My Two Favorite People...

SAY "CHEESE"!!!

Madi has become quite the Daddy's Girl lately! A couple weeks ago he went to KC for work so he let Madi ride along. This is a few pix of them before they left. OF COURSE they had to stop at Cabella's along the way which resulted in Madi bringing home more camo-wear. :) I've TRIED to encourage her to be a girly-girl...but she'll take her camo and boots any day!
So I won't complain. I'm so thankful she has a daddy that like to spend time with his little girl.

2 Year Pictures

Madi and Daddy went to Indiana to visist Grandpa and Grandma Herring in September and while there, Grandma and Leah agreed to tackle the super fun task of taking Madi to get some 2-year pictures. They did a GREAT job!! Here of some of the results.

Happy (un)Halloween :) !!

Otherwise! I'm goins to try to catch up on some Madi Moments!

Madi in her little Ladybug Halloween custom, that we are not going to get to go trick or treating in!! :) With her tricycle she got for her b-day.

Photo Collages

Yeah! I am finally able update! :) We are on week #3 staying here on the farm with my grandma while she recovers from hip surgery. I have had some time to edit some pix, but was having trouble uploading them...hopefully it's all better now!
Here are just a few shots from the last month or so...

Our good friends John and Mendy have a fun game (similar to Guitar Hero) complete with guitars, drums, mic. Here Madi tries her hand on the drums!

More Monkey Business...

We recently visited the Tulsa Zoo and had SO MUCH FUN. We went with my mom and dad and Madi's six "Goins" cousins. We loved watching Madi so many animals for the first time, that she has only seen in her books before.

She loves the monkies and insisted on a second carosel ride so that she could ride the monkey!

A few days after visiting the zoo, she came in holding an "Answers in Genesis" magazine upside down and pointing to the picture on the front...
MADI: "Monkey grandma, monkey!"
GRANDMA: (without looking at the picture :) "Oh, a monkey!? I hope it is none of our relatives."
MADI: "Monkey, mommy, monkey!"....
I had to laugh when I turned the magazine over and saw whose picture it was....Darwin! :)

My little monkey! :)

The other day I was sitting under Madi's bunk bed (with no bottom bed :) getting ready to put toys away and she crawls under there with me and starts demonstrating her climbing skills!! (I think the may be something she and Alexa cooked up together! :) I thought is was so funny I went to grab the camera and asked her to reenact it for me...she was all to happy to oblige! :)

Our "April 15th" is approaching...

~*~*~ Bloggers Motto ~*~*~
Live your life...blog about it when you can!
So every few weeks it seems like, I come out here to Blogland and give a big excuse why I have been neglecting my blog!! :) And tonight is no different.
Tax filing time is rolling around for our little partnership (Solid Rock Foundations, Inc.) and I have the OH SO enviable task of preparing our accounting records for the occasion!

So maybe when that's all over, my mind will calm down enough to organize and post pictures. We have traveled to Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, and Oklahoma! We have visited with family and friends and entertained guests. For now, I'm going to grab my camera and select just a couple pix to throw out here! Enjoy!!

Jesus Loves Me & Nightime Prayers

It is VBS week here at our church so we have been BUSY!! I'm behind on everything (including posting!) but I quickly took a couple more videos of Madi.

We love to sing and over the past week or so we have heard Madi singing more and more words of "JESUS LOVES ME" on her own...I wanted to catch her in some of the beginning stages of learning. SO FUN to watch her try new things. We tried to get it all on one video clip, but that didn't work out too well! :) It's kinda hard to catch, but in the middle of this clip, when I suggest saying prayers, she sits down and suddenly starts this pretend sleeping thing "ooonk...shhhhh"...so silly! I am not sure where she learned this. Then, she was determined we needed to pray for the food.

video

Part of Madi's bedtime routine is saying Nightime Prayers. We usually keep them pretty short and just pray for "mommy, daddy and Madi", but the other night we started praying for all our family members. We were praying for Drew, Dana, Kent and Katie who live in Michigan and we don't get to see very often...and Katie's name must have reminded her of "Kaylee" (my cousin's little girl whom we see quite a bit!) and so suddenly during her prayer after mommy said "Katie", Madi said, "Kaylee, No! No!" :) She is getting to be a bossy little thing!!

Hope this doesn't come off as disrespectful, but I took a little video clip of her saying prayers tonight.

John 3:16

Here Alexa inspired us to learn John 3:16. :) We have tried to say this a few times, but this morning we decided to capture it on the camera (before we were even out of our jammies nonetheless! :-). Later, while eating Cheerio's I heard her trying to say it on her own.

Pix from June...so far

June is just shaping up to be another very busy month for us!! This weekend was the Bacon Family reunion and it was great to spend some time with my mom's side of the family.
Here are a few pics from the past week.
Madi shares a soda with her daddy (and enjoys it very much!!)
She cracked me up how she was sitting. :)
She ALSO enjoyed some fudge bar!
More playing in the clothes!

What goes up....can't always come back down!
I felt like a mean mom, but I had to grab my camera...I was moving around some furniture and she decided to climb up, then got to scared to climb down. She said "help!"

Madi with Alexa, my sister Tyra and my mom's oldest sister Donna, at the family reunion.

With my cousin's little girl Jenna.

Ready to head out the door for Sunday School.
Below...This doesn't happen very often...I said "Smile, Madi!" and she did! :)

She's just so onery...

It's so great to be a stay at home mom! I am so very blessed to have so much more time with Madi. I feel like she is starting to bond with me more...She is definitely more clingy at times, which I think comes partly with this age as she becomes more aware of things she is (sometimes :) more cautious...these are just a few random pictures from the past couple weeeks.
Below: Madi trying on hats at the Dixie Stampede

FLY Lady says you should "get dressed to shoes" before you start your day!! Madi missed the getting dressed part, but shoes!? that we can do! As you can see, she had not been out of bed very long, with her crazy hair, paci and jammies!
Madi loves to play with the Q-tips. Since I usually clean out her nose with one, she thinks that is where they go! Of course we don't let her run around like this, but I just had to grab the camera when I saw her.
How many of these will fit!?

Madi loves to play on our bed. This morning, I think she had been playing there for close to 30 minutes...she was being so quiet that I went back to check on here and found her playing completely covered with the sheet.
Playing in the little baby doll crib my mom painted for her for Christmas.

Having fun playing in the wagon after a wedding we went to this past weeekend.

Happy girl!

Our Weekend

It's late Sunday night and I wanted to get a quick post in before our week begins. We had a busy weekend. Thursday night, Madi and I and Tyra's kids (Drew, Gabe, Siah, Taylar) headed to Branson. We stayed at the Grand Country Hotel with the indoor "Splash Inn" waterpark. Seth joined us on Friday night. We had a great time! and our hotel room was FULL!! :)
Heading off to the water park... Madi LOVED the water, although she did not like some of the loud noises in the park. I had to really watch her cause she would just duck right under the water.

We also enjoyed the Dixie Stampede. This was the kids first time to go and they loved it.
Madi loved all the animals.

At the end of our trip we got to meet up with Uncle Anthony and Aunt Adrian for some Olive Garden...yumm!

And here are just a few snaps from tonight. Madi is wearing the dress that was in her Easter Basket from Grandpa and Grandma Herring...I thought it looked great on her!...thankyou!
If she would have stood still for one second I might have got a picture that wasn't blurry!! :)

Little bit of everything...

It's nearing the end of the school year which means LOTS of school activities... and while (thankfully) we have none in school yet, I have 6 neices and nephews in school and so we enjoy attending as many of these events as we can. Madi loves being with all the kids and has almost got their names down pat.
"Dewew" (Drew)
"B" (Gabe...this one is just TOO hard!)
"Siah" (Josiah)
"Ayler" (Taylar)
"Sinsey" (Kinsey)
"Caden" :) yeah!

Madi "cleaning out" Deogy's ears...with a Q-tip nonetheless!
Flowers from Madi... (and not dandelions!)

Progress report...

This is where I will detail all the new things that Madi is doing and saying that only Madi's parents and an occasional grandparent can enjoy! :) READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
We have been staying with Great-Grandma Goins all week while mom and dad (who live with her) are on vacation. We have had a good time relaxing and Madi has really become acquainted with grandma...she now calls her "Memaw" too. Unfortunately, I have hardly gotten my camera out at all!
Yesterday we rode the quad down to the mailbox (It's a long lane and it was a cool rainy day! :) Madi loves to ride it although she hangs on extra tight. She loves to see the cows that graze along the long driveway and we even got to see a couple bunnies which she thought was great. Now every time we head down the drive she says "bunny!". Tonight Seth took her on another ride out to see the newborn calves and he said she just started screaming she was so excited.
Madi loves this lady-bug massager and tonight she says "Daddy, back!" So daddy obliged her to give him a back massage. ;)

Hmm, think I'll massage my backside...silly girl!

Madi's vocabulary really seems to have taken off. She is putting together more and more sentences.
"No, mama!" :) (of course)
"I don't want that!"
"I need more!"
"What's that?"
And tonight on the phone, I'm sure she asked me "what you doing?"
My favorite thing to hear her say is "Hi, Mama!" or look in the mirror and say "Hi, Baby!" in that sweet little voice.
When I start to "get onto her" for something I will usually call her name to get her attention. To which she answers "huh?". Now when she does something she knows she shouldn't do (or even THINKS she shouldn't) she will just start saying "huh?, huh?". Kinda nice, she gives me my cues! :)
When we turn on our road she has started to say "home" and says "house" when we start to go in. She says "Hi!" to everyone in Wal-Mart and will continue to say it if they don't hear her. Although she is still a little shy of strangers if they get too close (thank goodness). Her favorite thing to do right now? Pick flowers....and namely dandelions since that is about all we have in our yard. Yes, she has already learned to blow off the dead petals, joy! She LOVES to climb everywhere, but is scared to swing...I posted some pix of her on a swing with a pole in front of her and she did great with that, but not a regular swing...hmmm, we'll have to fix that this summer!
She has learned to wink and tonight she "made the day" for a couple old codgers at the diner we were eating at by winking at them. Totally random!
She is learning to pray, and even though she has been able to say "ma-nan" (amen) for a long time (and will say it regularly throughout other peoples prayers!), she had now started to say "food" anytime we pray (even night time prayers).
She is learning to count. She will sometimes count to 5 by herself, but can go to 10 saying alternate numbers although she gets confused on eight or nine and calls it one. ;)
I tried to catch it on video tonight. It is TOO long, but I haven't taken the time to learn how to edit these, so again, watch at your own risk!

February 2009

I feel a little behind since I was a slacker for a couple of months...Nothing big to report, but just a few pictures I took during the month of February.

On the move...

It's been exciting since mama has been off work to be able to MOVE more! :)

We've got some good workout partner's in Maria, Bradyn, Kaylee & Mindy! And we have been trying to meet at least 4-5 times a week to walk or for some kind of activity. This morning I had to wake Madi up to get ready to go and I just had to smile at her yawning while I wrestled on her sweats...you have no idea baby! ;) Bad quality, but I snapped a pix of her ready to go.

I can say my name!

Over the past several days we have worked with Madi on saying her name. Thought I should get a clip of it while she is still new at it. ;)

She has done it enough that she has started anticipating the next word, so she jumps ahead now.
